A-Gulch drill holes were first plugged with a concrete plug. The drill pad sites and
associated road was then graded using nearby, available earthen materials. The approved
seedmix was broadcast seeded in October, 2003 followed by covering with a coconut
matting. The culvert located in the bottom of the ephemeral drainage was also removed.
Weed Control
Early thistles, houndstongue and Whitetop were sprayed by a contractor using Telar and
Banvel herbicides in accordance with the label requirements. Late thistles, houndstongue
and Russian knapweed were sprayed with a mixture of Banvel and Redeem herbicides in
accordance with the labels. Areas sprayed included general disturbance areas such as
road cuts, warehouse storage areas, pond outslopes, etc.
Redeem herbicide was also applied to Russian Knapweed and thistles in accordance with
the requirements of the label. Areas sprayed again included general minesite disturbance
aeeas and pond slopes.
No seeded reclaimed areas were in need of weed control.
Rill and Gully Survey
The Lower Hubbard Creek site, the Bear Creek site, the reclaimed areas of the West
Valley fill coal refuse disposal azea and East Yard coal refuse disposal area and the
reclaimed degas wells sites were inspected for the formation of rills and gullies deeper
than nine inches. No such gullies were encountered requiring follow-up repair and
seeding.
Reclamation May
Due to the very small acreage of total reclamation, and the scattered nature of such
reclamation versus the much larger Permit area, an attempt to present the information on
a map would be of limited utility. The Division has, within the PAP, a number of maps
showing the location of the particular reclaimed areas. We have also included with this
report the following ATTACHMENT I -SUMMARY OF DISTURBANCE/ SEEDED
AREAS summarizing the OMLLC disturbance and reclaimed areas.
Please contact me at 970-929-5806 if you have questions or need additional information.
Sincerely,
~ k~~
J es A.
