Again this year there was no detectable affect of mining on the
• flow in Cottonwood or Rapid Creeks. The combination of flow from
location 5 and location 18 represents the flow previously
monitored at location 5. The combined flow of these locations
revealed essentially no change from the previous 2 years. The
lower flow in the Creeks did show the anticipated affect of lower
ground water levels as indicated by the GWMS piezometers.
The cause of lower water levels in the refuse pile piezometers is
indecisive. We would still like to believe that it is the affect
of pile dewatering. A few years of above average precipitation
might provide an indication of the source of water in the
piezometers.
Consumptive use of water is expected to show a decline in 1991
for surface facilities because of the repair of a water leak.
Other uses of water are expected to remain about the same.
i •
