<br />1990 ANNUAL RBCIAMA'iZOti RBFt~T <br />introduction <br />In cong~liance with Rule 2.04.13, Cyprus Orrl~ard Valley Goal Company, Permit <br />No. C-81-038, submits the following Annual Reclamation Report for the 1990 <br />calendar year. <br />1990 Reclamation Activities <br />No additional acreage was newly distuxhed by minirg or construction <br />activities during the 1990 calendar year. Small acreages on both the east and <br />west ridge waste disposal areas were redisturiied to accamrodate *ppai_rs to the <br />west ridge waste pile. <br />'This report will serve as the baseline reference dociumnt for all future <br />reclamation reports. 'Ihe report summarizes available information croncerning the <br />current reclamation status anti reclamation history of both the Orchard Valley and <br />Orchard Valley West mine sites. <br />Reclamation Aistory <br />An extensive reclamation project was initiated in the fall of 1977 to <br />address the Orchard Valley upper mine area, middle mine area, mine roads, and the <br />new oaurty road alignment near the existing opal stockpile. 'Itre reader is <br />referred to the following doampnts for a complete discussion of the details of <br />Associates." <br />Revegetation of cut aryl fill slopes was aocanplished in 1978 on previously <br />seeded but sparsely vegetated and eroded slopes stemnirg fran excessive water <br />runoff caused by the lack of an effective water diversion system. <br />In 1979, a diversion channel aryl four sedimentation ponds were constructed <br />to divert water away fran the main mine facilities. Aooe,s roads to the <br />sedimentation porris aryl a parking lot were also wrtstrvcted. Zhe revegetation <br />program of 1979 addressed disturbed areas associated with these facilities and <br />eased approximately 12 acres of reclamation. <br />Reclamation activities in 1980 focused on revegetatirg lands disturi~ed <br />thrarc~r minor construction activities conducted in 1979. `The areas ad :~~. in <br />1980 included the Orchard Valley Mine water pipeline, exploration drill pads, and <br />miscellaneous road~rays.
