The points in question are control points 8BMN, PTA, and PTB and moni[or
points [N-1 and ~ These points were identified and described in a correspondence included as an
attachment to-Ant[ Tatum's letter dated August 29, 1998 and are also located on a map submitted with
same a results of my search are as follows.
• There is no Mincic survey data for rairoad monitoring points west of the Golden Eagle mine in the file
mamtained by the lead specialist for the mine. However, there is data, collected July 28, 1993, for the
Santistevan Canyon monitoring points as per the plan in the approved permit. it is likely that the
railroad points were monitored on the same day, but not reported to the Division, since they were never
a part of the approved subsidence monitoring plan. It is not possible to determine, nor is it our
business, as to what surveying was done by Mincic on that day as per Basin's request.
• There is also no record of the Division receiving any subsidence monitoring data for the August 16,
1993 subsidence monitoring data collected by Mincic. No data is reflected in [he subsidence file for
this date, regazdless of location.
• It is possible that either DMG or OSM received this survey data with regard to the Tatum investigation
as it was developing. Possibly Jim Pendleton received this data during his involvement.
If you have any questions, let me know.
