III I I IIINIII ~'
999
~~°,~~°q~ STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer. Govei
•
DEPARTMENT OFNATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. BANTA, Director
DATE: January 12, 1989
T0: Gregg Squire
FROM: Candy Thompson
RE: Colowyo 1987 AHR, C-019-81
I have reviewed all the hydrology sections of the report including groundwater
and the Streeter Fill-Inspection Reports and the Streeter Fill Survey Monument
data. The operator has documented changes in the narrative portions of the
report. The following are trends noted not mentioned by the operator.
Well 5600 N
This alluvial well at the Streeter Pond area continues to have an elevated
sodium level resulting is an elevated SAR. The SAR in August 1987 was 8.2.
As noted by the operator, the well is situated so that it has multiple sources
of water. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the cause of the increased
sodium.
The operator is recommending redrilling of the well to a better location to
determine mining impacts.
Streeter Fill Survey Ponument
No movement outside the previously developed trends was noted. However, Bench
7000 - South had a final Northing Value of +g.52. The appropriate value
appears to be +.852 as shown on the graph.
Inspection Reports - Streeter Fill
Further development of surface cracks was noted on the lip of the 6,700 foot
bench. A stake line was established to monitor further movement. The problem
was noted in March and April, 1987. During quarterly monitoring no further
movement was noted.
CMT/eke
2573E

215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
