Gunnison No. 1 Mine - Lower Refuse Pile Compaction & Slope Stability
Monitoring Report for April & July of 1990 (Permit No: C-80-007)
Dear Mr. Price:
OF ~DfO
~~ R9
„~%"~~1$
~~~
'*
~ /8 ]6 ~'
The Division has reviewed the two quarterly reports submitted by West Elk Coal
for the lower refuse disposal pile. The reports present the required
• compaction ana slope stability monwnent monitoring information for the lower
refuse pile. The reports present the information in a clear and concise
format.
The information submitted demonstrates that the refuse has been compacted in
accoraance with the specifications and that monitoring of this effort has
occurred on an appropriate frequency. Further, the slope stability survey
monitoring information demonstrates that the face of the pile is not
undergoing any abnormal movement, other than expected minor consolidation
settlement.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
~~
Matthew S.
