• effects noted in the water well decreased significantly. Minor but continual improvement of
WQ was noted from 1997 - 2000.
Water level (WL) data from baseline condition prior to pumpage or injection indicated four
distinct zones. Figure 6-7 illustrates period of record for down dip wells. Pumping from
WRN's water well 90-1, completed in the A-Groove, began in May 1990 and affected WL of
primarily the A-Groove and to a lesser degree the B-Groove aquifer. Raw water pumpage
effects, i.e. A-Groove dewatering and an example of potentiometric WL recovery following
reduced pumpage, can be noted on Figure 6-7.
The Dissolution Surface WL changes have been correlated with mining activity. Following
• use of submersible pumps in cavities 1A, 3A, and 4A in 1995 - 2000, the WL in EX-2 and
other Dissolution Surface wells has significantly declined. Submersible pumps provide the
ability to control recovery flows and balance net flow in and out of the cavities.
The following information summarizes potentiometric water level data from ground surface,
for monitoring wells immediately down-dip of solution mining activity:
uvso tas~ iz54 rues 1197 ~~~ ~vss 1D00
Signdrart F~6rded E,merded E,maded E,maded E~mr„ded Ea~„dad E~rkd
= Prior Rar Shulda+n O~ O~ ~ ~ Off- " Off- "
Pe`ched = 310' NIC +2 NIC (306') -13 (323') -13 (323) 4 (314') -2 (317) fi (316') -9 (319
MGraoe = 445' ~0 (475) S 450') -28 (471') -24 (469') -25 (470') 39 (484') -19 (464') -30 (475)
B~n7oe = 445 -13 (462) -6 (455) -13 (462) -14 (4611 -10 (459') -7 (456') -10 (459') -11 (460)
Dissahrtion = 455 WIC +1 WC (456') +125 (344') +g/ (407) +29 (430') +12 (447) +5 (454') -2 (461)
• + or - =change from baseline
• WC = insignficant change from baseline or prior to water well and operations.
• prior =4190, prior to pumping water well and mining
47
u
