~ Alkalinity, bicarbonate and TDS data indicated an increase late in 1993. See Figure 6-
3 for illustration of bicarbonate results. Other WO parameters indicated increased
concentrations in late 1993 but lower than the period of record highs, i.e. magnesium,
chloride and hardness. Figure 6-4 illustrates chloride results. In late 1993, WQ
changed significantly and was characteristic of a mixture with mine water. Most WO
parameters peaked in early 1994 and declined from late 1994 to mid 1995 as a result
of water used during recompletion in July 1994, from the A-Groove. In mid 1995-1998
most WO parameters returned to high concentrations similar to late 1993 and early
1994 WO. No significant trend in WO was noted in 2000 to indicate continued mining
effects or a return to historical WO. Chloride and fluoride results indicate an upward
trend for 2000.

No trend or significant water quality change was noted for the Perched, A-Groove and B-
Groove monitoring well aquifers. For example, see Figure 6-5 for conductivity results of B-
Groove well (89-1). Conductivity results from the B-Groove are consistent, similar to other
WQ parameters through this period of record. Late in November of 1994 WO effects were
noted in the A Groove water well (90-1), which supplies the plant with raw water.
Significant changes in WO were confirmed for the water well in December 1994. See
Figure 6-6 for alkalinity, conductivity, and chloride results from the water well. Mine water
effects on WO of the water well peaked early in 1995.
