Well 90-5 was plugged and abandoned in 2000. This well was the horizontal injection well
for the original cavity 1.
_~
,•,
~`,`C `1~ \ , ~,' \,~
Other activities in year 2000 were:
a) Anew air dryer was purchased.
b) 2200 feet of 8" line pipe (from the plant to drilling trailer), used for injection, was
replaced due to severe corrosion.
c) New valves were installed in the plant for testing. These new style valves will
eventually increase the efficiency of the plant by decreasing failures and
crossflow between the barren and pregnant liquor flows.
d) Anew wash water sump pump was purchased to help eliminate solids being
transported to the process pond.
e) During 2000, White River Nahcolite produced quality brine low in chloride.
f) Anew barren heat exchanger was installed.
g) Three rotary feeders were installed on discharge from silos and screw conveyors
were installed to replace paddle conveyor and air activated valves. Capacity
was increased from 15 to 60 tph from the silos to the bucket elevator.
h) Several projects were completed to minimize water usage in the plant. Among
these were the use of double RO seals and a piping system to return pump
gland water to the process tank rather than allow it to enter the brine water
system. Barren water lines, to encourage the use of hot barren liquor rather than
wash water, were installed.

5
