Active mining operations and related activities were suspended and
final reclamation activities were initiated at the end of January 1993. Subsequent to completion
of final backfilling, regrading, topsoiling, and mulch crop seeding of the Pit 1 area and road and
pond areas during 1995, final reclamation seeding of these areas was completed during 1996. In
addition, minor supplemental drainage protection work was completed and revegetation success
evaluations were conducted during 1996.
1.0 MINING AND TOPSOIL REMOVAL
Active mining operations at the Kerr Mine ceased in January 1993 and no mining or topsoil
removal activities have occurred subsequem to this date.
2.0 BACKFILLING AND REGRADING
The Pit 1 azea and portions of the main haul road and Bush Draw access road (approximately 61.2
acres) were the final mine disturbance azeas to be backfilled and regraded. Final regrading of these
areas was completed during 1995 and no backfilling or regrading occurred during 1996.
3.0 OVERBURDEN STOCKPILE
The main overburden stockpile for the Kerr Mine was removed and the associated disturbance area
reclaimed in 1993-1994 in conjunction with reclamation of the 720 Pit area. No remaining
overburden stockpiles exist at the Kerr Mine.
4.0 ROADS
The widths of both the main haul road and the access road across Bush Draw were reduced by
ripping, grading, and seeding the excess road width with a mulch crop during 1995. The remaining
road segments have been sized as permanent and temporary light-use roads, respectively, for post-
reclamation access. The reclaimed road areas (approximately 6.3 acres) were seeded with the
Enyneering L Envlronmenral Services
P.0 Box 77go~B
475 Pine Grove Road
Aeamboal Spnngs. lolorado dog77
Phone q7o 87q.6x6o Fax g7o.67q gog8
Steamboat Spring Denver Fort Colllrtt Seattle Santlayo
