Lamm
Governor
DATE: August 20, ]985 ~"'""
T0: Sue Mowry
FROM: Jim Pendleton ., c-r.~Q"~-
RE: Blue Ribbon Mine Be~rEh In ction Certification Quarterly Reports -
February through A and May through July, 1985 (Permit C-81-047)
Pursuant to your request, I have reviewed the above-referenced mine bench
inspection certification reports. The reports are acceptable as submitted. I
recommend that we inform the operator of the following conditions.
•
1. The monitoring of the temporary and permanent slope stability
monuments should be performed at lease monthly for the first six
months. The Division should be informed immediately if any
significant movement is noted.
2. The remaining work on the mine bench reconstruction: placement of
"the cover (material), completion of the rock toe, seeding and
installation of the four (permanent) stability monuments at the top
of the bench," must be completed prior to the end of this fall's
construction season. The Division expects this work to be
completed this fall: If the applicant procrastinates and is
interrupted by the onset of cold weather, a violation situation
will exist. The operator should proceed accordingly.
cc: Bob Liddle
2808E/cj
•
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3567
