• Loading Station
Product is shipped from the site in bulk transport trucks.
Loading from the storage building is by mechanical conveyors. The
110 foot truck scale is included in the loading station for
control of operations and final accounting.
Dust collection systems are provided for the conveyors and the
truck load-out area.
Evaporation Pond
A ten acre evaporation pond has been provided for containment of
spills and disposal of waste streams from mining and process
operations (Figure 2-2). The pond consists of two compartments of
• 3 and 7 acres. The three acre compartment will contain any plant
spills or excess process solution overflow. The solutions
collected in this compartment will be pumped back to the plant for
recycling. The seven acre compartment will contain waste streams
such as cooling tower blowdown and water softener waste brine and
will not be recycled. The process waste compartment (three acre)
has a 150 gpm submersible sump pump to return plant spills to the
process. No permanent pump will be required for the waste
compartment; rather, a portable unit can be used as required.
The pond has a double liner with a leak detection system. The
primary liner (top) is 60 mil. high density polethylene (HDPE).
The secondary liner is 40 mil. HDPE. A HDPE drainage netting was
• used between the two liners to assist flow of potential leakage
11
