III IIIIIIIIIIIII III RECLAMATION REPORT Coors Energy Company (CEC) has continued to contract the services of both Cooper Aerial Survey Company of Tucson, Arizona and BE&K/Terranext, LLC (Terranext) in Lakewood, Colorado to provide aerial survey and optical scanning/digitizing services for the 1998 reclamation evaluation and tracking work. In addition to the increased accuracy that has been brought to the overall process through the use of these two firms and the latest mapping and drafting techniques, CEC continues to seek assistance from Terranext in several areas to supplement its own understanding of the "reclamation process". No additional acreage was "disturbed" during 1998. Approximately 1 1 acres of A-Pit haul road located north of the former A-Pit site were reclaimed with the excess spoils from the haul road being used in the reclamation of A-Pit. The western portion of A-Pit haul road was covered with two (2) feet of topsand in 1998, with the remaining portions of A-Pit haul road to be topsanded in 1999 following the placement of topsand on A-Pit, itself. Ash disposal in A-Pit concluded in March, 1998. This approximately 9 acre area • was then covered with six (6) feet of spoils and graded during the remainder of the year. Topsand placement, placement of fertilizer and cover crop (sorghum) seeding are scheduled for the Spring of 1999. No new reclamation seeding was accomplished during 1998. The reclamation summary for the end of 1998 is noted as follows: RECLAMATION ACREAGE SUMMARY Total area remaining to be reclaimed 218.6 acres Total area reclaimed and re-vegetated 194.4 acres Grand Total 413 acres (Note that these acreage figures are unchanged from the 1997 report. While reclamation activities were ongoing during 1998, no additional areas reached a level of being both reclaimed and revegetated.) AHR-1998 -124- Stipulation 4 17
