May 2005 Hayden Galrh Mirte 2004 Annual Aer/amatiort Refion ~ Poge 4
relationship between the abundance of cover and the opportunities for plant diversity to develop
on a revegetated site.
2.3 WEED CONTROL
The permit azea was surveyed for noxious weeds in 2004 to determine the need or Level of
retreatment for previously sprayed azeas. Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Houndtongue
(Cynoglossum officinale) were the primary tazget species, however, Yellow toadflax (Linaria
vulgaris) was treated in Pazcel 003. The applied herbicide consisted of a tank mix of 0.5 gallons
of Tordon 22K and 0.5 gallons of 2,4,D with 50 gallons of water. Control areas were sprayed in
June and then again in September. A spot spray gun was used to concentrate control activities on
target azeas, reducing potential impacts to adjacent desirable vegetation. The weed control azeas
will continue to be monitored in 2005 for effectiveness and necessary retreatment.
Hydzo-Envizonmental Solutions, Inc.
P.O.
