The azea surrounding <br />the southern pond was seeded and mulched in late 2006. Tn the spring of 2007, the field along <br />the faz western boundary was graded, and the subecade was ripped prior to distribution of the <br />stockpiled topsoil. Seeding of the field will occur later in 2007. <br />A permit was issued through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to remove the remains of a <br />segment of Corps dike that was isolated in the center of the Animas River, along the eastern <br />boundary of the DRMS permit. This activity was accomplished during March and Apri12007, <br />with the help of a River Restoration professional. Two structures were installed in-stream to <br />help stabilize the channel bottom. Willows were transplanted along the western bank, as shown <br />on the attached map. <br />This letter, the attached map, and enclosed check for $688.00 are submitted as fulfillment of our <br />reporting obligations for the year that began 28 July 2006. <br />sincerely, <br />~curta, ~°~ia:'~ <br />Marcia L.
