<br />On May 4, 1993, Core Laboratories received 20 samples flor metal and
<br />general inorganic analysis. The following information is pertinent
<br />to the interpretation of this data package.
<br />After a thorough review of the raw data for job 930703, it was
<br />noticed that the weak acid dissociable cyanide result fpr samples
<br />930428BMG (02,04,07) exceeded the total cyanide result. All three
<br />samples were reanalyzed for both total cyanide and weak acid
<br />dissociable cyanide and reported under Core ID 930703-2!1,22,23
<br />respectively. The reanalysis was performed past the EPA recommended
<br />holding time of 14 days. All original results reporting <0.04 mg/L
<br />were analyzed on reduced sample aliquots. The aliquots were adjusted
<br />based upon a spot test for cyanide.
<br />A method spike was not reported for weak acid dissociable cyanide
<br />analyzed on May 21, 1993. A method spike was analyzed but resulted
<br />in a low recovery. Due to limited sample volume, the sample could
<br />not be respiked at a later date. However, a sample from this batch
<br />was spiked on May 24, 1993, and met quality assurance requirements
<br />(80~ recovery). The reason for the poor spike recovery is under
<br />investigation.
<br />Samples requiring sulfide analysis were received near the EPA
<br />recommended holding of 7 days. Every effort was made to analyze the
<br />samples before holding time expired.
