.. •
Those areas noted as backfilled are active raw oil shale dump areas.
Those graded areas are active mine support areas and are stabilized with water
and dust palliative.
4. The species of vegetation planted, the locations, and approximate dates of
planting....
Locations - Described above under revegetated areas.
Approximate date - All areas were seeded in September and October, 1981.
Vegetation planted - All areas were seeded with permanent seed mixture
(Table 2). Planting of shrubs is scheduled for 1982 and, in fact, 500
have been planted to date.
5. Fertilization of areas revegetated in the fall of 1980 (approved
right-of-way road improvements) Bl through B10 location -see map Exhibit
E (Revised), also note (Table 1) item number 23. These areas Scheduled
for fertilizing two (2) years following seeding. Therefore, these areas
will be fertilized this fall.
6. Evaluation of revegetated areas is planned for the third growing season on
areas of at least one acre. Seedings have not been established long
enough to meaningfully evaluate.
7. Under the present plan for 1982 no additional disturbances are
anticipated.
In summary, the above points 1-7 cover reclamation activities in 1981.
The following map and tables are provided for additional information.
Also included is a summary update.
1. Summary update
2. Logan Wash Disturbed Areas Map - Exhibit F (Revised)
3. Table 1, Estimates of Acreages Disturbed and Acreages Revegetated
4. Table 2, Species List for Logan Wash
Summary update of Exhibit E of the Reclamation plan as a result of
activities onsite for 1981: The following summaries are provided as
updates to t ose previously provided, for the identified areas.
Summary Area !~1
The dump presently encompasses 13.36 acres in size. No benches have been
constructed. Three erosion control structures have been constructed in
Dry Gulch (at the anticipated maximum reach of the toe of the dump) and
the fourth structure has been designed but, will not be installed unless
the need is apparent.
During a heavy precipitation event there was a flow of mine muck into a
previously undisturbed area, but within the approved mine dump area. The
muck flow has been contoured to provide that any runoff will go to the
erosion basins.
Construction of the erosion control basins and the mine muck flow is a net
increase of 1.00 acre, which brings the total disturbance of Area #1 to
13.36 acres.
