stopped flowing in July. Due to high sediment level, this pond was
dredged out in the fall of 2003. Dredging was completed in November
2003. TDS values exhibit an increasing trend.
- Site YSGFS. This site exists on Grassy Creek below the NPDESII pond.
A statistical summary of baseline chemistry data is provided in Appendix
D1. Its TDS plot indicates an increasing trend.
- Site YSGS. This site exists on Grassy Creek below all discharges from
both the Yoast and Seneca II Mines. It became part of the required
monitoring program in October 1995. TDS values here are affected more by
the Seneca II Mine than the Yoast Mine. Its TDS plot indicates an
increasing trend.
Springs
- Spring YSPG6. This spring (also known as Annand Spring #1) supplies
water to the old Annand homestead. In September 2001, no sample could be
taken since the pipe that carries discharge from this spring was
clogged. Since then, samples have been taken directly from the spring
house clearwell. Its EC plot indicates an increasing trend.
- Spring YSPG10. This spring is actually an old artesian well (also
known as Annand Artesian Well). This wellhead sunk below ground surface
in the spring of 2003. Since then, samples have been taken from the
standing water above the wellhead. Its EC plot indicates a stable trend.
- Spoil Spring YSSPGI. This spoil spring was discovered in September-
2002. It is located just above the old haul road culvert crossing Annand
Draw. More data will be needed to evaluate the TDS trend,
Comparison of Surface Water Quality to Water Use Standards. SCC has

compiled a list of surface water standards for agricultural uses (Table
9). This list is composed of CDOH surface water agricultural use
standards (CDOH, Reg.31, March 1999). .
12
