Dept. of Natwal Resource <br /> Dear Mr. Zalkind: <br /> you for your May 3, 1982 letter advising Occidental of its payment and <br /> reporting obligations under the above referenced permit. Enclosed is our check <br /> no. 503133 in the amount of $275.00 for the annual fee due June 1, 1982. <br /> Although your letter indicates a fee due for 1981, our 1981 payment was trans- <br /> mitted to you with our 1981 map and plan which was sent to you under our cover <br /> of March 26, 1981. I have enclosed a copy of our check for your reference. <br /> We also note that your letter indicates that the anniversary date of the opera- <br /> tion is May 24. We respectfully call your attention to the fourth "Whereas" <br /> clause in our Development and Extraction Mining Permit which provides as follows: <br /> "WHEREAS, on June 1, 1979, the Mined Land Reclamation Board accepted <br /> surety submitted by Occidental Oil Shale, Inc. and such date shall <br /> be considered the date of issuance of the permit and the anniversary <br /> date for all other purposes;" <br /> Although this does not vary significantly from May 24, it does seem to be a <br /> discrepancy which should be corrected. <br /> If you have any questions or need further documentation, please contact me or <br /> Le Anna Watkins at (303)244-3222.
