Also, approximately 0.1 acres of an area outside the project disturbed acreage <br />was hydromulched. The area involved a livestock watering pipeline. <br />Approximately 0.4 acres were not accessible with the hydromulcher. <br />Approximately 1500 - 2000 lbs. of hydromulch per acre was applied. Figure 5-2 <br />Illustrates 1992 status of disturbed, reclaimed areas and planned disturbed areas <br />for 1993. <br />5.3.4 Reclamation Fencing <br />No additional fencing was required in 1992. Cattle guards were installed in 1992 <br />on south and east entrances to the plant facilities in place of gates. <br />5.3.5 Monitoring <br /> <br />Per WRNM's monitoring plan, preliminary (first two years) reclamation results were <br />visually inspected for herbaceous evaluation. Mature, identifiable species normally <br />occur in the third year of reclamation in the Piceance Basin. This is the second <br />year of growth for reclaration areas which were evaluated. <br />Topsoil embankments vvere inspected early in July, 1992 at the peak growth <br />stage. Perennial specie:. were mostly mature, and only the grass species difficult <br />to identify. Some of the grass species did not seed-out and vegetative means <br />were utilized for identification. <br />The 1992 visual evalu+3tion indicated seeded perennial species were in good <br />condition with high plar.~t vigor.
