Minor modification of the storage dome included construction of air curtain <br />inside access doors to reduce dust during loading operation. <br />4.3.2 Production Wells <br />Currently, continuous rnonitoring of both production wells consists of temperature, <br />pressure, density and flow data. The density meters on each wellhead assembly <br />are inconsistent and their reliability suspect. Because of the high temperatures of <br />the injection and recovery liquors, off gassing of C02 (bicarb to carbonate <br />conversion) distorts readings from the Schlumberger Specific Gravity meters. <br />These instruments are considered to be the best gravity meters available for this <br />kind of serviceā€ž but do not appear to be adequate for our process. Instead, hand <br />gravities taken by the operators have proven to be the more accurate and <br />dependable. Permission has been requested from both the BLM and EPA to <br />discontinue the use of the Schlumberger gravity meters in the field and the meters <br />will be phased out, or repositioned to make operable. <br />In addition to the metering taking place at each of the wellheads, an air-water <br />interface is maintained between the 7" liner and 9 5/e" casing on the recovery well <br />(88-1) during production, plus the annulus between the 13 3/s" and 9 5Is" on the <br />production well (90-5! is F;ept full of drilling mud. Because of an air leak in the 7" <br />casing on the injection well, no air-water interface was maintained. The record of <br />mud utilized to fill the annulus is shown in Table 4-2. As was the case in 1991, <br />note the decrease in the volume of mud needed to bring the annular level to the <br />surface. <br /> <br />24 <br />
