Box 60340 Natural Resource Trustee
Grand Junction, CO 81506
RE: CAM Mining LLC
McClane Canyon Mine (Permit C-1980-004)
Request for Revision (Coal Waste Disposal)
Dear Mr. Stover:
Information presented in TR-22 for the Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020),
which is currently under review, projects that the coal mine waste disposal area will be
reclaimed during 2007/2008. The currently approved plan for coal mine waste for
McClane Canyon Mine includes temporary storage in specified locations at McClane
Canyon Mine and permanent disposal in the Munger Canyon disposal site. Because the
Munger disposal site will no longer be available once final reclamation is initiated, an
altemative to the coal waste plan presented in Section 2-1 of the McClane permit will
need to be submitted and approved prior to initiation of final reclamation of the Munger
disposal site.
Please submit a technical or minor revision application (as appropriate) in a timely
manner, to ensure that an approved coal waste plan for McClane Canyon Mine will
be in place prior to initiation of final reclamation of the Munger Canyon Mine coal
waste disposal area.
Please contact me if you have any questions, or if you would like to discuss possible
alternative approaches to addressing this issue prior to submitting the revision
application. _ _
Sincerely,
Daniel T.
