<br />VIII. Nicholson Gravel Pit (Permit No. M-86- ) <br />A. Reclamation plan: At the conclusion of mining, the county <br />originally proposed to have the site smoothed out, levelling any remaining <br />deposits of sand and gravel. The overburden to be replaced to slopes not <br />steeper than 8:1, with any topsoil being returned over the overburden. <br />Following the final shaping, the mined area will be worked for a seedbed <br />and seeded to a cover crop of sorghum type of forage. Following mining, <br />the area will be permanently seeded to the following mixture: <br />Blue grams 1.O1~ plslac. <br />Western Wheatgrass S.Sf~ pls/ac. <br />Sideoats grams 3.OU pls/ac. <br />To date, the county has eloped the mined area and kept the area level <br />for the most part. The topsoil that was removed has been stockpiled. <br />Minimal reclamation to date. Gravel pit active. <br />All reclamation proposed or undertaken per recommendation of local <br />Soil Conservation Service. <br />B.
