VI. Pieper Pit (Permit No. M-85-122)
A. Reclamation plan: The county originally submitted a Reclamation
Plan providing that gravel was to be removed only from the streambed and
the adjoining gravel deposits. After mining is complete, the county will
smooth and level the mined area and it is anticipated that there will be a
substantial amount of gravel remaining. All banks will be sloped so that
they are no steeper than 8: 1. The mined area that is outside of the stream
channel will be prepared for a cover crop of sorghum and will be seeded as
follows:
Blue grams 1.OP ple/ac.
Western Wheatgrase S.SU pla/ac.
Sideoats grams 3.Oil pls/ac.
Fertilizer and mulch will be used to enhance seedbed productivity to
the extent that it is necessary.
To date, the county as sloped the mined areas of the channel and have
levelled the channel. The mined area is strictly within the confines of the
stream channel and it has been partially reclaimed by natural erosion.
There are no stockpiles of topsoil and no topsoil has been disturbed.
Gravel pit active.
All reclamation proposed per recommendations of local Soil
Conservation Service.
B. Attached hereto is a map delineating the gravel pit, prepared by
Ron Sidebottom, a draftsman, from Anton, Colorado.
