Bowie Resources Limited
Bowie No. 2 Mine
1998 Annual Mine Inflow Report
access roads.
The pump station is now fully operable and metered. This meter records the consumptive use of
water from the Deer Trail Ditch. During the 1998 calendar year, the Bowie No. 2 Mine
consumed 35.65 AC-FT of water in order to produce 1,151,651 tons of coal This usage
indicates that water for dust suppression and fire prevention at the Bowie No. 2 Mine is currently
averaging approximately 31 AC-F'I' per million tons of coal. This usage is expected to increase in
1999 when the bath house is installed.
Conclusions
It is reasonable to assume that during the 1998 Mine Water Inflow study season, less than 1.0
gallon per minute are flowing into the mine worlrmgs of the Bowie No. 2 IvI'me, that
approximately 22 gallons of water per minute is introduced from the Deer Trail Ditch and that any
sudden increase m mine inflow values could be reasonably incorporated mto the dust suppression
process, precluding the necessity for any mine discharges.
•

Page 2
