iVell SO'd 38 H-1
:. •
Procedure:
Falling head and recovery slug tests were performed on this well on Sep-
tember 6, 1982 using a slug 4.4 feet long by 1.32 inches in diameter. Falling
head data is erratic and no interpretation is made. Data from the 42.5 minute
recovery test is somewhat better and is interpreted below.
Interpretation:
Recovery data from well SOD1 38 H-1 show very little response to the slug
for the first 3 minutes of the test. After this time the data points begin to
roughly follow the Cooper et, al. type curve. Even so, only five data points
from the test can be used to define the type curve.
From the five data points mentioned, transmissivity is calculated at T=49.5
gpd/ft. by the Cooper et. al. method. Using the same final data points, T=24.4
gpd/ft. is obtained by the line source method. The well is completed with gravel
• pack to the static water level resulting in an aquifer thickness of sandstone
and shale of the Barren Member of 115 £eet. Average formation permeability cal-
culated by dividing 49.5 gpd/ft. by 115 ft. is K=0.43 gpd/ft2. The depth of the
formation tested is between 465 and 580 feet.
•
so ESA Geotechnical Consultants
