::. • Procedure•
Well SOM-16 H
Well SOM-16 H was slug tested September 8, 1982 with a displacement pipe
of weighted PVC, 5.5 feet in length by 2.36 inches in diameter. Dlinor fluctua-
tions in water level measurements at beginning of testing were recorded, but
over the total length of the test (1260 minutes) there was essentially no re-
sponse in the well.
Interpretation:
The results of the test which indicate zero transmissivity are probably not
representative of the "F" coal seam in which the well is completed. This inter-
pretation is based upon the following observations:
a. It is highly unlikely for coal to exhibit zero permeability.
• b. Rater level measurements in 1982 fluctuated from elevation 7044.1 feet
on 5/5/82 to elevation 7047.64 on 9/8/S2. These long term water level
responses indicate some permeability although the slug test suggests
that it is very low.
•
2a ESA Geotechnical Consultants
