Box 1568
CORTEZ, COLORADO 81321 RECEIVED
(970) 565-3388 JUN 0 y 2301
May 30, 2001 Division of Minerals and Geology
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 215
DENVER, CO 80203
(303) 866-3467
SUBJECT: ANNUAL FEE AND REPORT FOR M-1990-025 (HAY CAMP PIT)
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
Enclosed is a copy of the Annual Report form for the Hay Camp Pit, M-1990-025,
formerly Gardner Pit No 2A, for the reporting year ending May 22, 2001. As requested
when submitting that (and the fee), the map and detailed report is now being submitted.
As you know, this pit was purchased from Blasting and Mining, Inc. d/b/a Hay Camp
Gravel, by Four States Aggregates in September 2000, midway through the reporting
year. During the purchase and transfer, mining continued as in the past, without any
significant breaks in operations.
An area of approximately 6 acres has been reclaimed, and a request for reclamation
release is attached to this report. Following purchase, most mining activity has been
slowed within the permitted area, as material has been brought to this site from another
(adjacent) permitted pit for processing and shipment. The crushing/screening plant has
remained in operation at the same location as in past years.
The map shows the boundary of the permit and the total area to be mined (black and
red lines respectively), the reclaimed area (green hatched), stockpiles (dark brown
hatched for topsoil and gray from general location of products), plant site (gray square
with letter "P"), area proposed for mining in 2001-2002 (light brown hatched), and other
areas including the old partially mined area for the 110 permit in the southeast corner of
the site. The plant will be relocated, allowing shifting of stockpile areas and freeing
areas for additional reclamation. In addition, the County will reclaim much of the "boot'
on the southeast corner of the site, which is no longer required for stockpiles and work
area. (This area overlaps between our permit and the County permit.) The 0.6 acre
scalehouse site, also part of the permit area and located to the south off the map, is not
shown: this site is no longer in use and is being reclaimed this year.
