Dept. of Alaturai Hesourres <br />The excavation and reclamation of the gravel pits operated by Larimer County <br />is as follows: <br />Jayhawker Gravel Pit - See Exhibit A. <br />Gravel mining operations have been completed in the area marked <br />Pond A, Dike No. 1 has been constructed with the overburden and <br />Pond A area has been allowed to fill with water. Gravel mining <br />operations have begun in the area marked Pond B. The area marked <br />Pond C is being used for crushing operations and the stockpiling <br />of gravel. Top soil has been placed on all exposed areas around <br />Pond A including Dike No. 1 in preparation for the seeding of <br />grasses and the planting of trees. The reclamation monies are <br />included in the gravel crushing budget. <br />~./ trang Gravel Pit - See Exhibit B. <br />The gravel mining operation was contained in Areas B and D with <br />the dike between B and D being constructed using overburden. <br />The main haul road is south of the Boxelder Ditch and will remain <br />an access road. The remainder of the total area was leased for <br />grazing. Excess overburden has been used to construct a noise <br />berm along the south side of Areas B and C. Top soil has been <br />replaced on the exposed area above water level with some trees <br />planted in the buffer strip south of Area A. The reclamation <br />monies are included in the gravel crushing budget. <br />3. Wellington Gravel Pit - See Exhibit C. <br />Gravel mining operations were completed in the Wellington Gravel <br />Pit north of the North Poudre Canal during 1980. The area is sk~\.c~ "' <br />being used as a solid waste landfill with cover material ex- <br />cavated from the gravelled out area immediately southerly of the <br />land fill face.
