COMMENT-ON FINAL'RECLAMATION PLAN
Map D has been drawn to revise the final contours of the bench
area shown on Map F of Hlue Ribbon Coal Company's Permit. These
alterations are a result of establishment of a stable bench config-
uration at this time, and the decision to use option 2, Page 11 of
the Blue Ribbon Stipulation Response, dated February 10, 1983.
During construction of the bench, all stripped and presently
stockpiled topsoil will be used in the top portion of the cover
material. The temporary roads used for access to the fill levels
will be graded to the final contour when no longer needed.
At the end of the bench stabilization project, the slope below
the bench will be in its final configuration and will be revegetated
as a shrub community according to plan, as discussed in Section
2.05.4, page 111 ff. of the Permit. The fill on the bench will be
done as planned at the end of the life of the mine. The fill will be
on a slope of approximately 15° to the center of the existing portal
highwall, approximately 35 feet. To reduce the potential for erosion
over the filled bench below, a drainage channel will be installed
across the remaining bench to divert runoff into the drainage to=
the north. The channel will be approximately 10 feet wide by 18 inches
deep, and on a grade of 2Z. This beach fill will be revegetated as
a shrub community, according to the plan discussed in Section 2.05.4,
' page 111 ff. of the Pezmit.
