•~ <br />Cover - Cover work began on the lower 3 benches of the pile on May <br />24, 1994. Subsoils were hauled onto the benches: from tine Cameo <br />Borrow Area Nos. 1 and 2, adjacent to the Topsoil Pile No. 6 and <br />from material washed into Pond 6 during Coal CY•eek flooding in <br />1991. Topsoil was hauled onto the benches from Topsoil Files Nos. <br />5 and 6. Approximately 6" of the material placed on the piles was <br />topsoil. A minimum of 18 inches of material is requir•eci on the <br />pile. Survey information from a survey on July 9, 1994, showed an <br />average of 24" of soil on the benches. Additional material was <br />spread on areas showing less than 18" in that survey. Cover depths <br />were verified with approximately 20 excavations by company and <br />regulatory personnel. Excavation depths ranged from 15.5" to over <br />36". Additional material was spread in areas with less than 18" of <br />cover. The cover material was in place on June 29 except for small <br />areas found in the July 9 survey. Cover of those aY•eas was <br />completed July 11, 1994.
