Lochhead Etecuuve Dueaor Michael B Lung Re: Eckman Park, Mine I & 2 , C-81-071, 1997 Annual Reclamation Report o~~-~,~on olreanr Dear Mr. Mills: The Division has reviewed Colorado Yampa Coal Company's 1997 Annual Reclamation Report for the Eckman Park, Mine I & 2 Mines. A summary of the report and requirements of the submittal in accordance with Rule 2.04.13(1) follows: a) Name and address of permittee and permit number. The permittee and operator is, Colorado Yampa Coal Company 29587 Routt County Road #27 Oak Creek, CO 80467 b) Location and number of acres disturbed during that year. No new disturbances took place in 1997. c) Location and number of acres backfilled during that year. No backfilling or grading was conducted in 1997. d) Location and number acres topsoiled during that year. No topsoil was applied during 1997. e) The species, location and number of acres of vegetation planted during that year, including any augmented seeding or cultural practices. No seeding occurred during 1997. f) Location, number of acres and date of planting for all previously revegetated areas. Definition of locations, acreage, and dates of planting for these areas are required by Rule 2.04.13(1). The 1997 report references the 1996 Annual Reclamation Report and maps since no new reclamation activities were conducted in 1997. Five acres at the dragline dismantling area (Trudy's corner) remain to be reclaimed. g) As this permit undergoes bond releases on portions of the permit area, submittal of a map clearly depicting phase Ill released areas would be beneficial in future reclamation report submittals. The 1997 annual reclamation report complies with Rule 2.04.13(1). Yearly weed control activities, reseeding or inter-seeding, and erosion feature repairs should be included in future reports.
