DELTA COUNTY
TPIANTOS Prf RECEIVED
2001 ANNUAL REPORT OCT
29
20M
Permit No. M- 1978-304 Division of hlm terals and Geology
Geology
Approximately 0.70 acres were mined in 2001. The mining operation used a high and low
benching procedure to reduce the high wall exposure. Both benches were mined at the western end of the
gravel exposure and only the upper bench mined toward the eastern `high wall' area. Mining in 2002 will
continue to mine both benches progressively into the 0.80 acres noted on the map.
Triantos Pit is one of several operated by Delta County and is mined as needed for county
projects or gravel reserves. Delta County crushes and processes the gravel in each of its pits with a
portable crushing plant. The Operator intends to preserve the ramped roadway along the south edge of
Phase I for vehicle and equipment access to the top level of the pit. The ramp will be mined at a later
date.
