~~ <br />Introduction <br />r~ <br />This report covers an intensive (Class III) cultural <br />resources inventory of a ca. 15.2-acre parcel of land in E1 Paso <br />County, Colorado. The inventory was conducted ^n behalf of <br />Raymond and Robert Dellacroce ^f Colorado Springs, Colorado, by <br />William R. Arbogast, Colorado Archaeological Permit 93-8 (expires <br />February 28, 1990 . Raymond and Robert Dellacroce propose to <br />mine gravel on the property, referred to as the Dellacroce Pit, <br />and have requested a permit Erom the Colorado Division ^E <br />Minerals and Geology. The inventory was requested by the <br />Colorado Historical Society in accordance with the Colorado <br />Register of Historic Places Act C24-80.1). <br />The project area is shown in Figure 1. The parcel is <br />irregular in shape, but is generally rectangular and contains <br />1H.2 acres; a short access road Cca. 1/H mile in length and ca. <br />one acre in area) is included in the project area, all ^E which <br />are located in the NE 1/H, Section 3Y, Township 11 South, Range <br />67 West, 6th Principal Neridian. An area of ca. 3 acres at the <br />westernmost boundary cE the project area has been previously <br />disturbed by earlier gravel extraction. The total area surveyed <br />is ca. 15.2 acres. The property is owned by the Dellacroce <br />Family. <br />The objectives of the survey were to locate and record all <br />cultural resources in the project area, to evaluate such <br />resources under the eligibility criteria Eor the National <br />Register of Historic Places CNRHP), and to Formulate management <br />recommendations Ear any significant resources.
