• MASS BALANCE
CEC disposed of 48,490 tons of mixed fly and bottom ash, obtained from
the Trigen Colorado Energy Corporation/Coors facility (see Ash Disposal
Data) in A-Pit and in the south end of B-Pit using approximately 10,440
bank cubic yards* (BCY) of overburden material to cover the disposal areas
locally, and to control dust and fugitive debris in the immediate areas of the
pits. Approximately 10,640 tons of mine waste rock was disposed of in
B-Pit between two ash layers. Approximately 74,420 BCY of overburden
material was used to complete the reclamation of portions of A-Pit and the
A-Pit haul road. Relatively small amounts of overburden materials were
excavated from the long term spoil area due to the use of excess spoil from
the A-Pit haul road grading being used as spoil material for the A-Pit
reclamation. Approximately 14,400 BCY of topsand was moved from the
topsand piles A-1 and B-1 to further the reclamation of portions of A-Pit
and the A-Pit haul road in order that these areas will be ready for the 1999
seeding activity.
Remaining B-Pit Airspace Volume 1,693,000 BCY
• (to proposed final reclamation contours)
Remaining A-Pit Airspace Volume 2,600 BCY
(to proposed final reclamation contours)
Excess Long-term Spoil Remaining On Site 340,000 BCY
Topsand Stockpiled On Site 430,000 BCY
Note: * -- Denoted as "cubic yards in-place".
r]
AIiR-1998 _I?7_ STIPULATION #17
