IN Phase 1 21.77 acres ± is Plant Site, 7 . 97
acres ± is undisturbed that will become parts of Lakes 4 and
5 (dark green) , and 5. 48 acres ± that is sod farm. We have
topsoil was stockpiled in various areas around the site for
use when reclamation begins (pink) .
(2) No reclamation was required this year. Backfilling is
continuing in the WETLAND DEVELOPMENT AREA in the north lake
(aqua) . We have approximately 10. 56 acres filled in this area
at this time. We have completed sloping along the river on
1 . 11 acres ± (orange) on the south lake and all of the north,
west and south shores in Phase 1. The list below shows the
total acres under various stages of reclamation. We have
approximately 22 , 300 YD3 of soil stockpiled along the lake
shore south of the river. We estimate 7, 000 YD3 will be
needed for resoiling purposes. Most of the reclamation in the
mined areas north of the river is complete. Only the east
shore of Lake 1 is left to complete at this time. This can
not be done until the plant site areas is mined because we are
still working in this area.
a. Backfilled: 10. 56 ac. (tan/aqua)
b. Graded: 18 . 56 ac.
C. Seeded: 17 . 45 ac. (green)
e. Lake Surface: 38 . 38 ac. (blue)
d. Topsoil Replaced: 17 . 45 ac.
f. Sod farm 5. 48 ac. (light green)
g. Ave. topsoil depth 12 . 00 in.
(3) Mining will continue in the Lake 2 area we will be stripping
ahead of mining. We will continue to mine towards the south
property line on the west side of the site. We expect to mine
15. 88 acres ± this year in that area (yellow) , if additional
area is needed we will start mining the area stripped (rust) .
(4) Backfilling will continue in the WETLANDS DEVELOPMENT AREA.
We will continue to monitor the seeded area around Lake ,#1.
It appears to be successful but we will continue to monitor
its growth. No other revegetation is required at this time.
As in the past, we will seed an area when the seedbed prepara-
tion is complete and there is no danger it will be disturbed
by operations in the pit. Once we have finished mining along
the river the north shore slopes will be established and
graded. The soil we have stored along that side will be use
to resoil the slopes.
