Eatratropical storms with Northwest Flow
These storm events are very significant during the winter months whets they
' produce significant snowfall over the basin. However the Williams Fork study found that even
the largest of these events during the seasonal window for PMP storms provides only minor
rainfall totals within the Williams Fork Basin as well as over the Henderson Mill drainage.
Conclusions
' AWA has reviewed in detail the PMP study for the Williams Fork drainage basin in lif;ht of if
application to the Henderson Mill tailing pond drainage sub-basin. Since no sigttificar~t storms
have occurred since the Williams Fork study that would which affect the conclusions, there are no
t updates required. The location of the Henderson Mill drainage on the northeast slopes of the
William Fork Range tends to decrease the rainfall potential for genera] storms. Additionally, its
' location does not allow the largest of the local storms to be centered over the basin. 'Che local
PMP storm should centered over the Williams Fork basin as presented in the Williams Fork study.
' AWA recommends that the Williams Fork study be used to provide the PMP values for the
Henderson Mill tailing pond drainage basin.

1

' Page 16
