Overburden Thickness: Variable from 600 feet at western extremity of the 1990
• development to 1000 feet at eastern extremity.
Mining Height: 9-11 feet.
Roof: Co~rised of mudstones tending to air slack. Top coal of 2-:3 feet in
thickness was left to prevent roof problems associated with this strata type.
Ribs: Rib sloughage was minimal with ribs standing very well.
Floor: The lower "D" seam was used as floor which provided ~etent conditions.
Anomalous Conditions: A fault with an 8 foot upthr^vt displacement trending
Northeast at approximately 45 degrees was encountered at crosscut 45. Entries
beyond the fault were driven into the lower "D" seam. water seepage was sporadic
with minimal short-term flows produced fran the fault and roof source:;.
Panel A:
Mined length: 300 feet of panel advance development.
Overburden Thic}a~ss: Approximately 800 feet.
Mining Height: 9-11 feet.
Roof: Comprised of mudstones tending to air slack. Top coal of 2-3 feet in
• thickness was left to prevent roof problems associated with this strata type.
Ribs: Rib sloughage was minimal with ribs standing very well.
Floor: ?he lower "D" seam was used as floor which provided competent conditions.
Anomalous Conditions: Small seeps from the floor were enoountere3 resrSting in
muddy areas and te~orary pools of standing water.
Panel A+:
Mined Length: 450 feet of panel advance development.
Overburden Thiclmess: Approximately 800 feet.
Mining Height: 9-11 feet.
Roof: Comprised of mudstones tending to air slack.
