MAY SURVEY <br />The May survey flight was conducted on May 8, 1991 using a Cessna 182. The weather <br />conditions during the flight consisted of temperarures ranging from 50-60°F, winds 0-5 mph, and clear, <br />sunny skies. The survey initiated at 0830 hours and terminated at 1030 hours. The survey of Seneca <br />II was flown from 0830 to 0915 hours, Yoast from 0915 to 0945 hours, and Seneca II -West from 0945 <br />to 1030 hours. <br />Seneca II - A total of 9 elk and 13 deer were sighted in the Seneca I[ azea (Table 3). Five of <br />the 9 elk observed were found in agricultural azeas (pasture) and the remaining 4 in mountain brush. <br />Eight of the 13 deer were found in mountain brush, 3 in agricultural azeas (pasture) and 2 in sagebrush. <br />A pair of eagles were observed with 2 eagle chicks at the nest site in Section 27. One eagle was observed <br />sitting on the nest in the NE 1/4 of Section 13. Another eagle was observed perched on a sandstone ridge <br />in the SW 1/4 of Section 6. An inactive nest was observed in Section 3. <br />Yoast -Ten elk were observed in the Yoast survey area. Two groups of four and one single <br />animal were sighted in mountain brush. The remaining elk was observed in agricultural habitat. Only <br />one deer was sighted. No eagle observations were made. The nest in Section 7 appeared to be inactive. <br />Seneca II -West -Several groups of elk and deer were observed within the survey area. The <br />largest group of elk (14) was observed in mountain brush habitat located in Section 10. Several small <br />groups of deer were sighted mainly in mountain brush.
