June Monthly/2nd Quarter Report - 2002 <br />Page 2 , ,. <br />"B List" Projects <br />• Columbus Mine Portals -Mine Waste Dumps <br />• London Mine Portals -Waste Dumps <br />Work, permitting or arrangement for access is not planned until it becomes evident that <br />the work plans for these projects require implementation. <br />• Mayflower Facility-UplandHydrologicalControl <br />• Tailings Pond No. 4 Surface Drainage Modification <br />• Tailings Pond No. 4 Upland Groundwater Diversion <br />DMG has inspected the sites and approved the projects as complying with the work plans <br />and MLR Standards. <br />Due to the scant snowfall this past winter and lack of spring moisture, vegetation on these <br />sites although improved from 2001, is stressed. Ofthe diversions, only Drainage C ofthe <br />. Mayflower Facility -Upland Hydrological Control Project was actively diverting water <br />at month end. Progress pictures are attached. <br />Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment <br />Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active throughout June and the 2"' <br />quarter. Cement Creek was diverted for treatment with the remaining American Tunnel <br />flow. Cement Creek flow remained above the level that intake wntrol to the treatment <br />system was required. This condition lasted throughout May. In June, the entire flow was <br />being treated again by month end. <br />The June 2002 monitoring results for; dissolved metals in the AT-004 discharge; Cement <br />Creek (CC-1B); American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT-INFEL); and Cement <br />Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC-20) are attached. <br /> <br /> <br />
