DMG Permit No. M~8-112 Quarterly, Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of May. Enclosed are analytical reports from Sangre De Cristo Lab fSDC) and Acculabs for the recent bi-weekly and monthly sampling period as specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. The cross-reference table between sample identification numbers, sample types and sample locations is also attached. Field and rinse blanks were collected as part of the QA/QC. Analysis that have not been received will be forwarded to you as I receive them. All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment ofihe tailings impoundment on 05/28/99, the piezometers were dry or contained well below 12 inches of water. The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 05/28/99, with the following result: BF-1 was 1 1.15 ft and BF-2 was 14.80 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also checked with the following result: PW-1 was 13.35 ft, PW-2 was 14.20 ft, PW-3 was 22.60 ft and PW-4 was 25.10 ft. The underdrain was measured at approximately 33 gpm. The collection pond's leak detection system was sampled and pumped dry. The leak was measured at approximately 43 GPAD. On June Ol , 1999 BMRI's plan to evaporafe water from the West Mine backfill was approved by the DMG.
