An economic slowdown has been affecting the Grand Junction
area and product demand has been lower than anticipated.
Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 2.40.
2.41 (1) No new land was disturbed in the last year. A minimal
amount of mining was carried out in areas previously
disturbed. Material used in operations came from
stockpiles accumulated in past years. Refer to the
1982-1983 annual report map. A revised map is not
being submitted because no additional disturbances
have occurred.
(2) Backfilling in Stage Y has stopped since no new area
has been disturbed to provide a source of backfill
material. No other stages require reclamation at this
time.
(3) Backfill of the 15 acres in Stage Y will resume as soon
as additional area is disturbed and material becomes
available.
(4) No planting was scheduled for this year.
(5) No fertilizing was called for this year.
(6) Monitoring has continued in the areas where
revegetation has been done in Stage X.
(7) As economic conditions steady, mining will continue in
Stages I and C with approximately 2.50 and 1.00 +/-
acres respectively being mined during the coming year.
SEP 19 ~g65
MINED LAN V1S10N
aEGL~-MA?ION p
