Lochhead
Executive Director
Michael B. Long
Dinsion Director
I have reviewed the 1994 AHR for the McClane and Munger Mines and
have the following comments:
1) Apparently, the monitoring plan that is in the Findings
Document is the appropriate monitoring plan for the mine
during its temporary cessation status. It would be a
good idea to have this incorporated into the permit
application package during the next midterm.
2) The operator's proposed substitution of groundwater
monitoring in GW-3 for the current monitoring in GW-4 is
appropriate, given that monitoring in GW-4 is being
affected by nearby irrigation. The proposed change in
the groundwater monitoring plan should be submitted in
the form of a technical revision to the permit.
3) The operator should submit, in future AHR's, a map which
shows the locations of the hydrologic monitoring
stations. These could be superimposed on the existing
maps submitted with the AHR which show the location of
the underground mine workings.
If you or the operator have any questions, please call.
BLP
cc: LPR
