cover on this area Alfalfa was the most commonly encountered forb on this site, contributing 7.01
percent, of the total relative cover.
The locations of the 20 cover trarLSects sampled on this site are shown on Map 1, Cropland and
Rangeland Reclamation -Vegetation Transect Location Map. Copies ofthe individual field data sheets
for the plant cover sampling of this site are found in Exhibit I -Copies of Rangeland Reclamation Block
AC&D-C 82-92 -Plant Cover Field Data Sheets. The sample adequacy calculations in Table 2, Trapper
Mine Sample Adequacy Calculations, docruments that the number of samples required to describe this
site at the 90 percent confidence interval was 13.3.
Production. The results of the 30 production trar>_sects on this area are surrunarize<l in Table 9, Rangeland
Reclamation Block AC&D-C-82-92 - Pmductioa This table shows that the average forage production on
this site equals 71.08 g/1/2 mZ. Perennial grasses contributed 62.23 g/1/2 mZ or 87.55 percent ofthe
forage produced on this area Perennial forts, contributed 8.85 g/1/2 mZ or 12.45 percent of the forage
production on this area. The revegetation forage production standard for this area is 47.46 g/mZ. Since
this site averaged 142.15 g/mZ, it can be concluded that this area satisfies the revegetation success
standard with respect to forage production.
The locations of the 30 production transects sampled on this site are shown on Map 2, Rangeland
Reclamation -Vegetation TransecK Location Map. Copies ofthe individual field data sheets for the
forage production sampling of this site are found inExhibit J - Copies of Rangeland Reclamation Block
AC&D-C-87-95 -Production Field Data Sheets. The sample adequacy calculations in Table 2, Trapper
Mine Sample Adequacy Calculations, document that the number of samples required to describe this
. site at the 90 percent wnfidence interval was 53.0 trar>.sects. However, since the production on the
reclaimed site exceeds the revegetation success standard using the reverse null approach, sample
adequacy was achieved with 30 transecks.
S~recies Diversity. The perrent relative composition or cover values in Table 8, Rangeland Reclamation
AC&D-C-82-92 -Plant Cover, documents a total of six species possessing a relative cover of 3 petrertt or
greater. Included in this number are five cool season peremrial grasses and one perennial forb.
The revegetation success standard for species diversity is for these revegetated areas to be dominated by a
minimum of at least four cool season perennial grasses and one forb species each possessing at least 3
percent relative cover. On this reclaimed site there are five cool season grasses and one forb species,
which satisfies this species diversity standard. The maximum allowable revegetation success wntribution
by a single species is 50 percent relative cover and no four species are to wntribute more than 80
percent of the relative cover. Application of these criteria documents that the maximum contribution in
temps of relative cover for a single species is 13.91 percent with the most dominant four species on this
site contributing only 41.03 percent of the total relative cover. The revegetation monitoring data from
this site wnfimr that the species diversity standards for this area have been satisfied.
SHRUB CLUMP EVALUATION
A total of three shrub clumps, which are located in Rangeland Reclamation Block AD&H-AB -93-95,
were sampled to detemvne if at least half of all the pads possessed at least ten live shnb stems.
