Walther <br />Mr. Riehazd Mills Executive Unector <br />Twentymile Coal Company <br /> <br />29515 Routt County Rd #27 Michael B Long <br />Division Director <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />Re: Foidel Creek Mine, Permit No. C-82-056 <br />Refuse Pile Topographic Map and Cross-sections <br />Deaz Mr. Mills: <br />The Division has reviewed the above-referenced map and cross-sections that you <br />submitted with your letter of July 24, 2001. <br />The review compared the submitted map and cross-sections to the design <br />approved by the Division that is shown in Exhibit 26 A of the permit application. <br />The slope down the face of the pile averages approximately 2.9-tot, consistent <br />with the 3-to-1 slope called for in the design. The slope along the length of the <br />bench, extending to the south, is approximately 1.5%. This slope is greater than <br />the 0.5% called for in the design, but is not excessive. The maximum elevation of <br />the regraded azea is about 15 feet higher than called fot in the design, but is not a <br />concern because the slope of the face meets the design requirement. <br />Based on the review, the Division finds that the regraded area is in compliance <br />with the design and you may proceed with the placement of cover material as <br />described in your letter. <br />If you have any questions, please call me. <br />Sincerely, <br />~h"^ lt-~R""i"~ <br />Tom Kaldenbach <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />
