We reviewed the license with regards to the license conditions and
Homestake was in compliance. A recommendation was made for Homestake to review
the license and to update it as appropriately. Reports and records were also reviewed and
they were in order.
We then went to the site. Signage was in order (photo 1). We went to the licensed
repository (photo 2) and walked the site with a gamma scintillometer (photo 3).
Readings were neaz background. Final cover had been placed to a depth of two to six
• feet with clay obtained from within the mine (photo 4) with clay stockpile in the
background. The area will be revegetated in the fall. There were no issues with the
repository such as erosion or Tilling.
We went to the area of the former radiation treatment facility and toured the rest of the
site to familiarize Edgaz witl- the project. Revegetation is looking good. There were no
violations and the participants signed a form 59-1. We left the site around 12:30, while
Veme remained on site.
Attachment: Pictures Pitch site
Cc: Steve Tarlton w/o picmres
Alan Cox via a-mail w/o pictures
•
