Pitch Reclamation <br />Project Colorado Mined <br />• Land Reclamation Board <br />2006 Annual Reclamation <br />Report <br />5.0 INSPECTIONS <br />On August 22, 2006, Phillip Stoffey and Edgar Ethington of the Colorado Hazardous <br />Materials Waste Management Division conducted a site inspection. No violations or <br />issues were identified during the inspection. A copy of the inspection report dated <br />September 14, 2006 is provided in Appendix B. No other agency inspections were <br />performed at the project site during 2006. <br />6.0 SURETY <br />Homestake maintains a reclamation surety performance bond for the Pitch <br />Reclamation project in the form of a financial guarantee bond with Safeco Insurance <br />Company of America in the amount of $2,263,000. A copy of the notification and <br />surety form to the Division is provided as Appendix C. <br />7.0 RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR 2007 <br />• In addition to the continued monitoring of pit slope stability and water quality, <br />Homestake continues to move forward with final closure and reclamation of the Pitch <br />property. During 2006, the following activities are planned: <br />• The Tie Camp Creek Disposal Cell will be scarified and seeded with a similar <br />mix of seed used for revegetation throughout the property; <br />• Planting of approximately 300 tree seedlings on the face of the Indian Creek <br />Waste Rock Disposal area; <br />• Continued reclamation work on the constructed wetlands located in the <br />drainage area in the vicinity of the former RTP including placement of <br />additional organic material and other enhancement activities to further <br />promote sediment control; <br />• Noxious weed control; <br />• Monitor water release in accordance with the CDPS permit; <br />• Conduct monthly monitoring and reporting pursuant to the CDPS permit at <br />compliance point SW-33; <br /> <br />20 <br />
