•
Steady water levels were observed in the last four years in well GMP-1 with the previous
ten years showing a water level rise due to the movement of Pit A to the east of this azea No
dewatering was produced from the Z pit in 2004 while some dewatering occurred from the F pit. The
fairly steady water levels in well GD-3 in 2004 indicate that rechazge was large enough to maintain this
level. The water levels in KLM well GP-2 overall gradually declined in 2004 after a previous water
level rise that followed a larger decline. The previous decline could have been caused by the decrease
in rechazge and mining in this area
Water-level changes aze discussed in more detail in the following section.
2.1.2 WATER-LEVEL CHANGES
Water-level changes for 2004 are presented in Figures A-1 through A-14 in Appendix A.

The table in Appendix A list all historical data for the Trapper Mine. The wells are grouped on the
water-level plots according to aquifer where possible but, in most cases, aze grouped by similar water-
level elevations. Table A-1 in Appendix A presents a tabulation of the water-level elevations for each
of the monitoring wells. Figure 2-1 presents the total annual precipitation at the Trapper Mine from
1978 through 2004. Precipitation declined from a high in 1983 to a low in 1988 and had increased
agaui to a peak in 1993 with a below average vah>e in 1994. The yeazs 1995 through 1997 had above
average precipitation relative to the Trapper Mine record, while 1998 through 2004 were below. The
precipitation in 2004 was 2.7 inches below normal. Water levels in rriarry of the wells reflect the natural
variations in rechazge. These changes may lag the actual precipitation events due to the time it takes
the head change to move through the aquifer to the monitoring we1L
Wells GP-5 and GP-6 aze useful in defining natural variations in the QR aquifer for 2004.
Water levels in wells GP-5 and GP-6 show a rising trend from 1995 through 1998 with an overall
gradual rise from 1998 to 2002. Water levels in these two wells have been fairly steady the last three
Trapper Mining Company
2004 Mnual Report
