coal seam while the F and Z pits mine the I seam H pit mined the G seam. The 3rd White Sandstone
(G coal and sandstone below) and 2nd White Sandstone (F coal and sandstone below) aze monitored at •
six Locations. The Lewis Shale is monitored at one location. The Johnson and Pyeatt Gulch alluvial
aquifers are monitored at one site in each of these drainages while the Flume Gulch alluvium is
monitored at two locations. The 2003 hydrologic monitoring report, Hydro-Engineering, LLC (2004),
presents the discussion of the monitoring results through 2003. The table on the pull-out index
provides basic welt data for all wells monitored in 2004. Welts GB-l, GB-2, GB-3, GF-1, GF-2 and
GF-3 were not required to be monitored.
Springs at Trapper Mine were monitored during 2004 in accordance with the approved
monitoring plan. Springs with measured flows of greater than 5 gpm were sampled for full suite water
quality parameters. Results of the 2004 spring monitoring aze presented in Table B-2 in Appendix B.
Table 1-1 (page 1-4) preserrts the pit and well dewatering data and volume of water used
for dust depression for Trapper Mine for 2004. This data shows that, on an average, approximately
23.0 gpm was pumped from the Trapper Mine pits during 2004. Well dewatering was started in
September of 2002 in the G pit. The average well pumping rate for 2004 was 25.I gpm for the G pit
well dewatering. This data is useful in interpreting water-level changes and consumptive use.
Surface-water flow and quality were monitored at only Flume Gulch (S-1), Johnson, No
Name, Middle Flume and East Middle Flume drainages during 2004. Flow was not observed in East
Pyeatt but one water quality sample was collected at this site. The Johnson, No Name, East Buzzard,
Coyote, West Buzzard, Ute, Middle Pyeatt, Ells, East 1?yeatt, Deer, West ]'yeatt, Faz East Buzzard,
Grouse, Sage, Oak, Horse, West Flume, Middle Flume, East Middle Flume and East Flume drainages
Trapper Mining Company t-2 •
2004 Mnual Report
