C-80-003
Dear Ms. Hellner:
~a Name : 19 S ~ ,4n,ritiw,c
Re.e(avrlo~.'f~ ~-p~tif-
5731 State Highway 13
Meeker, Colorado 81641
(303) 824-4451
~ ~J /
,_~:.~
-,..
. .',';~ -
~~r'.
Enclosed for the Division's review is the H-G Coal Company 1987
Annual Reclamation Report. The report is submitted to comply with all the
requirements for the monitoring of environmental data at the H-G Mine as
specified in mining Permit No. C-80-003.
During 1987 no additional areas were disturbed within the permit
boundary, including the loadout area. The 319 acres of disturbance
associated with the minesite was completely reclaimed in 1986. During 1987
some repairs of contour drainages and settlement cracks in the vicinity of
the south highwall were needed. Repairs generally consisted of the topsoil
regrading and broadcast seeding, where necessary, to fill in the small
disturbances.
The 16 acre area of disturbance associated with the shop/powder
magazine area was completely regraded, drainage established, retopsoiled
and seeded in 1987.
The new downdip groundwater monitoring well at the loadout was
established and two new monitoring wells were established at the minesite.
For additional details regarding these wells, refer to the appropriate
sections in this report.
As most of the monitoring information is required by the
Division, we ask that after your review the Division provide to us, in
writing, approval of the information contained within this report.
If you have any questions concerning this report, please contact
me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
~~ ~
C~
JAK/kh
Enclosure
cc: R.
